The Lotion can be used to treat hot spots in dogs, as well as to toughen their foot pads if theyre too tender. Salicylic acid fights bacteria and fungi and helps remove dead skin cells. Tannic acid is an astringent, when combined with alcohol, these acids work together to clean and sterilize affected tissue, remove dead tissue, and start the healing process.
